Eternity’s Sunrise

I was commissioned to create a large mobile for Cornell University’s Mann Library in memory of an employee. This eight-foot tall brushed metal mobile was installed in January 2013 in the library’s second floor reading room, which is a gem of Art Deco architecture. It is entitled Eternity’s Sunrise, after the William Blake poem that inspired it:

He who binds to himself a joy
Does the winged life destroy.
But he who kisses the joy as it flies
Lives in eternity's sun rise.
